This recipe is incredibly easy to make and fool proof, you only need 3 ingredients besides salt and pepper. Pickup a pound of pork sausage at the store during the week to keep in your fridge to prepare for this delicious simple gravy to be enjoyed on the weekend. Gravy that is perfectly paired with soft moist flaky biscuits, see my recipe to make your own Homemade Biscuits, very simple.

Gather your ingredients. All you need is 1 pound of pork sausage, 1/4 cup flour, and 2 1/2 cups milk. I prefer the sage pork sausage, but other flavors are just as good.
Cook the sausage in a pan over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Try not stir too often to be sure to get those crispy browned bits. Optional: Add in a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes if you prefer a little spice.

Add in 1/4 cup of flour, stir until well combined. Do NOT drain the sausage, the fat is needed to mix in with the flour.

While continuously whisking or stirring with a wooden spoon, gradually pour in milk, a little at a time until all the milk is added.

Once the sausage gravy comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low, simmer and stir for 2-3 more minutes until the right consistency is achieved for your gravy.

Season with salt and fresh ground pepper to taste and enjoy!
